The effect of mass media on children Research Paper

The effect of mass media on children - Research Paper ExampleThesis controversy The proliferation of the elements of the mass media has positive as well as negative consequences. It is important for children to be taught how to make the approximately out of the more positive aspects in order to benefit their own intellectual development. Different aspects of the mickle Media One of the reasons why the mass media elements can be detrimental to the psychological development of children is because they present a reality that does not really exist. For example, television is not an agent that encourages viewers to be interactive (Strasburger, Jordan, and Donnerstein, 2010). Adults whitethorn understand this however, children are easily deceived into imagining that they are interacting and not just consuming. This can be viewed as existence a negative aspect because watching television will fill the social use ups of the children without natural endowment them the chance to acquire new social skills that will help them in real life situations with opposite people. tally to Keating (2011) the average child in developed nations watches 4 hours of television on a periodical basis. Given that the child will also have to attend school and possibly perform a few chores in the home, this means that the time for playing with other children and socializing with them is drastically reduced (Romer, Jamieson, and Aday, 2003). piece of music reading newspapers and magazines or watching entertaining programs helps a child to develop good literary skills, it may also cause he child to acquire the values and principles that are extolled on his or her favourite(a) programs. This is particularly likely if the child in question is isolated from other children and does not really give-up the ghost with others on a regular basis except in school. This is why there is a need for a balance to be struck between watching television, playing videos, or reading pop magazines, a nd playing outside with other real life people (Keating, 2011). There are different theories that strain to explain how elements of the mass media affect the way that children communicate. Some of these include The Social action theory According to this theory, when engaged in the media, children form a part of a system of mediated communication which allows them to exit new meanings from the content they are watching or reading closely. The theory holds that communication includes aspects such as the receivers interpretation, the actors objective, and the inherent message (Meirick, Sims, Gilchrist, and Croucher, 2009). This means that the process of communication perceived by children when they are engaged in mass media elements is not about gaining meaning, but creating it according to an individuals understanding. galore(postnominal) children today do not hone their reasoning abilities through engaging in rational discussions about platonic ideas, but model them according to what mass media elements say. Even by adults, the media is greatly trusted and presumed to be saying the truth whenever they report on different things. For example, during campaigns leading to national or local elections, it is rather easy for a media station or major newspaper to subtly influence the decision of likely voters in the choice of candidate to opt for by emphasizing on one candidate

The focus must remain on the manner in which the firm if growing to make it sound as big rather than going by the sheer size. The global and regional contexts of the firm are very important to understand because this is a sign of expansion and growth which are very appreciable within the thick of things. Thus the argument that the process of growth is lin ked with the firm in terms of its expansion and development seems valid yet devoid of its optimum size at the same time. This is because firms like to associate their own selves with the growing demands of the business rather than opening up offices which are neither manageable nor controllable. There is a dire need to comprehend that a firm will notwithstanding grow if it wants to grow from its own roots, rather than banking on realms which are non-essential for its own basis. size is therefore a by-product of a firms growth and is just a matter of the dimensions which are present within the context of the firm itself. Control Over Prices Essay Example for Free

Control Over impairments EssayThe degree of understand everyplace costs which the companies whitethorn exercise varies widely with the competitive space in which they operate. Sellers operating under conditions of pure disceptation do not have either control over the impairments they receive. A monopolist, on the other hand, whitethorn fix prices according to his discretion. Sellers operating under imperfect contestation may have some set discretion. The marketer, thitherfore, needs to know the degree of pricing discretion enjoyed by him.Wal-Mart is selling varieties of items and one of these is Toys. It has got a honorable percentage of customers in the market but other competitors have also have their own lot and Toys R Us is quite close to it. Both the companies have their own approach of pricing the toys in the market. The approach is whether WalMart should use the loss leader pricing indemnity to stay comfortable in the market. complete(a) competition is said t o exist when (i) there ar a stupendous chip of buyers and sellers, (ii) each purchasing and selling such a small quantity that their withdrawal from the market will not run the total demand and supply, (iii) the overlaps sold by sellers are homogeneous in nature. rases under perfect competition are determined by the forces of supply and demand. Prices will be fixed at a turn on where supply and demand are at equilibrium. In pure competition, all that the individual seller washbasin do is to accept the price prevailing in the market, i.e. the company is in the position of a Price Taker. If it wants to charge a higher price, buyers will purchase from other sellers. And it need not charge slight since it stop sell its supply at the going market price.Under monopoly, a single manufacturer has complete control of the entire supply of a certain product. The main features of monopoly are (i) there is that one seller of a take time officular good or service and (ii) rivalry fr om the producers of substitutes is so strange that it is almost insignificant. As a result, the monopolist is in a position to set the price himself. Thus, it is in the position of a Price Setter.Even in the case of monopoly, there are limits to the extent to which it can increase its prices. Much depends on the elasticity of demand for the product. This, in turn, depends on the extent of availability of substitutes for the product. In most cases, there is rather an infinite series of closely competing substitutes. Bigger organizations must take into scotch potential competition by alternative services. The closer the substitute and greater the elasticity of the demand for a monopolists product, the less it can raise its price without frightening a focussing its customers.Monopolies are forever and a day tending the break down due to many reasons (i)shifts in consumer demand, (ii) continuous process of innovations and technological developments steer to development of substitute s, (iii) lack of stimulus to efficiency provided by competition, (iv)entry of smart competitors.Loss leader pricing policy of Wal-MartIt is a type of strategy applied by the company where the item is sold below the personify price in an effort to balance other profit gross sales. It is just another way of promoting sales of the products which are slow moving or to counterbalance some other competitive satisfying. It is the market situation characterized by a few sellers each having an appreciable share in the total output of the commodity. In each of these industries, each seller knows his competitors individually in each market. Each company realizes that any transfer in his price and advertising policy may lead rivals to change their policies. Hence, Wal-Mart may consider the possible reactions of the other firms to its own policies. The smaller the number of firms, the more interdependent are their policies. In such cases, there is a strong tendency towards close collaborati on in policy determination both in regard to production and prices.Such type of industries are usually characterized by what is known as price leadershipa situation where firms fix their prices in a manner dependent upon the price supercharged by one of the firms in the industry,i.e.,Toys R Us, called the price leader. The price leader has lower costs and satisfactory financial resources, a substantial share of the market and a reputation for sound pricing decisions. Price leaders with the strongest position in the market may often increase their prices with the hope that competitors will deliver the goods suit. Price followers may also delay raising their prices in the hope of snatching a part of the market share away from the leader.Monopolistic competition is a market situation, in which there are many sellers of a particular product, but the product of each seller is in some way differentiated in the minds of consumers from the product of every other seller. None of the selle rs is in a position to control a major part of the total supply of the commodity but every seller so differentiates his portion of the supply from the portions sold by others, that buyers hesitate to shift their purchases from his product to that of another in retort to price differences. At times, one manufacturer may differentiate his own products.Wal-Mart sells toys of many steels. This differentiation of product by each manufacturer by giving it a brand name gives him some count of monopoly if he is able to create goodwill for his product and he may be able to charge higher prices thereof to some extent. Still, his product will have to compete with similar products of other manufacturers which puts a limit on his pricing discretion. If he charges too high a price, consumers may shift their committedness to other competing suppliers. One can find it out by going to the market, as a large number of toys are subject to a large degree of product differentiation as a means of att racting customer. As long as a consumer has an impression that a particular product brand is different and superior to others, he will be willing to pay more for that brand than for any other brand of the same commodity. The differences real or illusory may be built up in his mind by (a) advertising, and (b) his own experience and observation. The producer gains and retains his customers by (a) competitive advertising and sales promotion, (b) the use of brand names quite as much as by (c) price competition. yield differentiation is more typical of the present day economic system, than either pure competition or monopoly. And, in most cases, a firm has to pillow slip monopolistic competition. It tries to maintain its position and promotes its sales by either (i) changing its price and indulging in price competition, or (ii) intensifying the differentiation of its product, and (iii) change magnitude its advertisement and sales promotion efforts.Instead of the cost, the emphasis here is on the market. The firm adjusts it own price policy to the general pricing structure in the industry. Where costs are particularly difficult to measure, this may seem to be the logical first step in a rational pricing policy. legion(predicate) cases of this type are situations of price leadership. Where price leadership is well established, charging according to what competitors are charging may be the only safe policy.Normal pricing is not quite the same as accepting a price impersonally set by a near perfect market. Rather it would seem that the firm has some power to set its own price and could be a price maker if it chooses to hardihood all the consequences. It prefers, however, to take the safe course and conform to the policy of others.Prices of certain goods become more or less fixed, not by deliberate action on the sellers part but as a result of their having prevailed for a considerable period of time. For such goods, changes in costs are usually reflected in changes i n quality or quantity. Only when the costs change significantly the customary prices of these goods are changed. frequent prices may be maintained even when products are changed. For example, the new model of toy may be priced at the same level as the discontinued model. This is usually so even in the face of lower costs. A lower price may cause an adverse reaction on the competitors leading(a) to a price war so also on the consumers who may think that the quality of the new model is inferior. Perhaps, going along with the old price is the easiest thing to do. Whatever be the reasons, the maintenance of vivacious prices as long as possible is a factor in the pricing of many products. If a change in prices is intended, Wal-Mart must study the pricing policies and practices of competing firms and the behavior and emotional make-up of his opposite number in those firms.References Philip Kotler (2002) Marketing Management, Prentice-Hall, New YorkBeaumont, P.B.,(1999) Pricing Policies a nd Procedures, Sage Publications, London, .Flippo Edwin B., (1989) Marketing Management, McGraw-Hill, New YorkPurecell J.,Boxall P.,(2003) Marketing Development, Plagrave, Macmillan, New York.

When talking about children who have learning disabilities, it is safe to say that they are not always identified in its earliest stage, which then can lead to long term problems in an individuals life. From physical, emotional, and social obstacles, all of which they will encounter at some point in their lives if the necessary measures are not taken to help these children. Not having the organizational abilities to acquire the knowledge as it may be taught, limits the ability to properlylearn.A learning disability is a neurological disorder that affects the brains ability to process and respond to information. A child with a learning disability may not have any major sensory problems yet they may still struggle to keep up with people of their age in functions of learning and regular daily activities. Through our development process, we become equipped with skills in order to grow, succeed, and evolve into our adult life. When a development stage, cognitive development stage, shows that the basic listening, comprehension, writing, reading, speaking, and the ability to reason are not present, someone needs to identify and address the situation as premature on as possible in order for the child to have a chance to grow in all other stages of development. An example of the theory and c ondition where the two are intertwined would be when a child is in school and could be having difficulties with what other children take for granted as being simplex skills that have been learned through development and interaction with parents, teachers, etc. In this childs situation, he/she does not have the ability to understand the story that he had just read, and now has the task of say questions about the story in writing. His cognitive development stage for some reason has not evolved the way it should have, which now has left him battling a learning disability that may have gone unnoticed by his parents. In this situation, it is now up to the teacher to be able to identify what is taking place and to deal sure that the child receives the necessary attention and evaluation in order to help him/her overcome and cut with what they are struggling with. The difficult part in the whole process is identifying learning disabilities early on and being able to treat them appropriat ely and in a timely manner. With children, unless significant signs are present, the struggles early on could be attributed to just being a child if one isnt familiar with the signs of a disability. Once the disability is diagnosed, many options and opportunities are present to help assist in the overcoming of the problems. However, if the disability goes undetected or ignored for too long, a lifeof challenges lies ahead for the individual.Literature Review-Children With and Without Learning Disabilities A Comparison of Processes and Outcomes Following Group Counseling. Is the War on Terrorism a War Essay Example for Free

Is the War on Terrorism a War EssayThe international War on Terrorism is a military campaign that began shortly after the dismayist attacks of September eleventh 2001. First used by George W. Bush, the phrase state of state of warfare on terror has become to be conceptualized as a term used to signify global military, political, lawful, and conceptual struggle targeting two organizations designated as terrorists and regimes accuse of supporting them. The war on terror main focus has been with Islamist militants and Al-Qaeda.The war in Afghanistan and Iraq atomic number 18 both considered to be part of the war on suffice of terrorist act. thither is much speculation on whether the war on terror is actu ally a war. This essay will argue that both points of view are valid. thither are reasons which validate the war on terrorist act as being considered an actual war such(prenominal) as the fact that an actual decelaration of war was waged by both the US and Al-Qaeda, i t tail intercept be considered a new way of war, and that ultimately like war, terrorism is a mean to a political end.On the separate side of the spectrum, it may non be considered a war because it does not have a clear end or possible victory, it does not have a confined battle blank space as regular wars, and it is a war against an immaterial concept such as the wars on poverty, drugs, and crime. There is an extensive amount of literature on the subject of terrorism and especially the war on terror. Mia blossoming in Dying to Kill The bothure of Suicide Terror examines the use strategies, successes, and failures of felo-de-se bombing in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. She claims that in mevery instances the effort of Israel, Russia, and the United States have failed to deter terrorism and suicide bombings. prime of life too contemplates how terrorist groups learn from one another, and thus how they react and retaliate to counterterror tactics the financing of terrorism , and the role of suicide attacks against the backdrop of larger ethnic and political conflicts. Another current scholar writing on terrorism is Mark Juergensmeyer. Juergensmeyer studies religious terrorism more specifically. Bruce Hoffman gives a brilliant insight to terrorism and all its aspects.Hoffman describes its diachronic evolution and the mindset of the terrorist. He examines this invisible confrontation and his tactics and motivation in a globalized world. Hoffman argues that the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers radically altered the USAs and the Wests view on terrorism. When attempting to make the above question it is important to clarify and define the terms. Terrorism has a vast number of renderings and varies greatly depending on who is trying to define it and from what perspective it is being defined and at which scope. For example one definition of terrorism is the FBIs definition of it as the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to keep b ack or coerce a Government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in further political or social objectives. Another definition is from the Department of Defense which states it to be as the calculated use of unlawful violence or threat of unlawful violence to inculcate fear intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological objectives.A final example of one of the many definitions of terrorism is that of the Department of homeland security measure which states it as any activity that involves an act that is dangerous to human life or potentially poisonous of critic infrastructure or key resources andmust also appear to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping. These definitions vary sort of gre atly from one to another.Any definition of terrorism suits a particular billet and how they look at the act of violence, whereas very few look at the causes for it and what its essence is. Notice the selected dictionary for each definition will suit the type of agencys profile. The problem with defining terrorism is one that it is a subjective thing, and two that the parties trying to define it try to include everything and nothing in it. They try to put and various different events that happened and situations as well to help define it so as to make sure that terrorism encompasses a large number of things. For example the discotheque bombing of Bali. It seems that the definitions deal to include anything that attacks the west. With regards to the war on terror, is it the war on terror or terrorism? Is there in truth a war on terrorism and if so according to whom? The USA? Al-Qaeda? And in which theatres and locations are we talking ab break through? The war on terror might be a war on terror in Afghanistan but not in other places. Also the title of the question is quite ambiguous because is terrorism is an act of war, or is war is an act of terrorism? Each one can be unfolded onto the other easily. It is also important to consider who is included in the war on terror, is it all terrorists groups including terrorist groups like the IRA? Or is it honest limited to Islamist militant terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda? It is not always clear who are the terrorists and who are the terrorized All politics is a struggle for power, and the ultimate mannikin of power is violence. Hoffman writes that terrorism is where politics and violence intersect in the hope of delivering power. And that all terrorism involves a quest for power. Power to do many things such as to dominate, coerce, control but ultimately to proceeds fundamental political change.Clausewitzs definition of war was war is the continuation of Politick by other means. In this context terrorism fits i n accordance to his definition as terrorism in any case can be considered part of war. Terrorism can be considered a tactic or act of war, or war a tactic or act of terrorism. For example the French used paroxysm during the Battle of Algiers, the US uses terror tactics itself such as Abu Ghraib. It is very difficult to separate war from terrorism neatly. Being a terrorist is a stepping-stone to becoming a politician. Thus because of the very ambiguous kin and line between war and terrorism, terrorism can be considered as a new way, or military tactic of fighting war. Thus anything that tries to counter attack it can also be considered a war. Thus rending the war on terrorism a war. Terrorism is a complex phenomena in which violence is used to obtain political power to readdress grievances In order for one to consider the war on terrorism as an actual war, an actual statement of waging war has had to been make. This is the case with the war on terrorism. Al-Qaeda did declare war o n the USA in 1998.The bush administration created the term of the bloc of evil and the USA did fight a conventional war in Iraq in 2003. The war on terrorism might not be a war in itself but it could be made up and composed by several on difference wars such as Chechnya, the government of Sri Lanka versus the excitement Tigers (which was actually the first country to successfully defeat terrorism), and Mali. There have been clear objectives set out and enemies to defeat. Although this enemy is invisible, and the way of fighting the battles are different (due to the asymmetrical aspect of the war on terror) it does not mean this is not a war.The rules have changed, the battle space as well, the way of thinking of the enemy and war has changed drastically. nevertheless it is still war. It is just a new face of war. However, the war on terrorism is hard to define as an actual war for several reasons. One, because it seems the US and the West are just policing and engaging in nation building to promote liberal democracy. Hoffman mentions the second factor, which is vastly important in discrediting the war on terrorism as a war stating that unlike traditional wars, the war on terror does not have a clear end. This is because the victory seems unattainable.Terrorism wont die along with the terrorist leaders. Not even when the most wanted terrorist has been killed. DCIA Leon E. Panetta stated that I dont think theres any question that when you get the number one terrorist in the world, that were a little safer today than we were when he was alive. But I also dont think we ought to kid ourselves that killing Usama Bin Ladin kills al-Qaida. Al-Qaida still remains a threat, theyre still going to try to attack our country, and I think we have to continue to be vigilant and continue the effort to ultimately defeat these guys.We damaged them, but we still have to defeat them. In order for a war to be a war, shouldnt it have a clear end? Or at least a possible one? Th e war on terrorism also is discredited as being an actual war because it does not take place on a clear battle space. The director of public prosecutions, Sir Ken Macdonald quoted London is not a battlefield. Those innocents who were murdered on July 7 2005 were not victims of war. And the men who killed them were not, as in their vanity they claimed on their ludicrous videos, soldiers. They were deluded, narcissistic inadequates. They were criminals. They were fantasists. We emergency to be very clear about this. On the streets of London, there is no such thing as a war on terror, just as there can be no such thing as a war on drugs He continues by stating that the fight against terrorism on the streets of Britain is not a war. It is the prevention of crime, the enforcement of our laws and the winning of justice for those damaged by their infringement. The war on terror could simply be a war against a thing such as the war on poverty, drugs, crime tc There is no real way to defeat , destroy and rid the planet of such immaterial concepts. The war on terrorism looked under these aspects becomes more difficult to truly accept as a war. It is difficult to answer the question if whether the war on terrorism is an actual war. It appears that there is a struggle between Al-Qaeda fighting secularism, consumerism, and immorality and the US and the West is fighting against backwardness and against groups of mountain who reject western values and globalization. Is this what the real war being fought is about? Is this the actual war that is going on?There are both aspects crediting the war on terrorism as a war and others discrediting it. This question however is highly relevant and intertwines to other aspects of IR305 such as the changing nature of war (is the war on terror the new type of war? ), the different types of warfare (is the war on terror the new western way of warfare and terrorism the Arab way of warfare? ), and the topic of fortune societies (are we bre eding more terrorism by fighting the war on terror, thus creating more risk). All of these various aspects of IR305 are relevant to the topic of the war on terrorism.

Abortion Should Be Made Illegal Essay Example for Free

miscarriage Should Be Made Illegal Essay spontaneous abortion is a huge issue that most Ameri rear ends encounter their own opinion of. It is also a touchy subject where there is no right or wrong answer it is all a matter of personal opinion. wizs opinion could be from believing spontaneous abortion should be legal, and that a woman should be able-bodied to control what happens with their luggage compartment. Ones opinion could also trust abortion should be illegal, and that if a woman can take the responsibility of having sex then she should be able to sop up the responsibility of having a child. Going through with an abortion has got to be the most painful, excruciating thing to go through, non only physically, but mentally. spontaneous abortion is carrying out, when you take the life of a being, whether it is in the whom or not, it is still murder. The day a child is conceived is the day it is liveness. stillbirth is serious, and something I disagree with stro ngly. I train been researching this topic for over three months now, and the information I found is incredible and mind blowing. I have learned a lot from researching this topic and hope to further soulfulness elses knowledge astir(predicate) this very important issue. abortion, in more than one mode, is wrong, and throughout this report I plan to order of battle my audience why this is what I believe.See more Analysis of Starbucks coffee company employees essayAbortion is a huge issue throughout America. It is something heap have different opinions about. Some people pretend abortion should be legal and that a woman should be able to choose what goes on with her body and that it is no one elses business but her own. Then there are some people who believe abortion should be illegal, resembling me for example. I believe abortion should be illegal, I view women abuse this action, and dont realize the consequences until it is too late.As it states in Brian Wilsons Article Out lawing Abortion, Abortion has taken the lives of more than 40 million babies since 1973. Thats 40 million lives taken because women are abusing this dreadful issue. I believe we as a country should really try to make enough pro-life groups to appearing women what could happen, and what mentally happens, and physically. In Brian Wilsons Article Outlawing Abortion, it states that Abortion should be outlawed, but until it is, pro-lifers should work to pitch the hearts of women seeking an end to their pregnancies. I agree one hundred percent with this statement, I believe that pro-lifers should take the time and try and win over the hearts of women.I believe women should really be educated in the inherent subject, women should know what they are dismission to go through, both physically, and mentally. The physical part of the entire abortion is the process itself. on that point are a couple different ways a deposit can surgically remove the fetus from a woman. The most popular way to remove a fetus is when the doctor dilates the womens cervix, while he or she scrapes the uterine lining. Another process is a woman could take certain types of medication to terminate the pregnancy, but that is not as affective as a doctor surgically removing the fetus. So the process itself is painful, and traumatizing, if that is just the physical part of an abortion you can only imagine what the mental part is like. When a woman is thinking about getting an abortion they have to think of eachthing before they decide to go through with it. The act itself of an abortion really is not that big(a) of a deal, its a rather simple procedure that in itself causes little anguish. The big issue that women are concerned about is living with themselves knowing that they ended the development of their unborn child, that as they sit looking back at the procedure there could have been a child academic session bordering to them.Women that go through with an abortion struggle through t he emotional pain that an abortion causes. One of the most faulty arguments against abortions is that is causes serious depression and trauma to the mother. Some women even suffer from post traumatic stress disorder. A lot of women feel regret and sorrow after going through with the procedure, statistics show that women suffer study trauma when going through that. I think there should be doctors in every abortion clinic that does what the Article by Lynn-nore Chittom, and Heather Newton, Pro-Life Activists Need to Push the Anti-Abortion Agenda, do.Doctors in entropy Dakota were required to inform women seeking abortions that they will be terminating the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being. any women should be informed this, maybe it will make them step back and think about their next decision because that one decision could completely change there life forever. Many women after going through with an abortion feel sadness, wrong-doing, anxiety, numbness, and sh ame.Its not unusual for post-abortive women to experience all of those feelings plus more more, for example, women go through motional, spiritual, psychological, and physical side-effects for decades after their abortions. Abortion is a deadly and dangerous procedure. In every abortion the life of an innocent, unborn baby is ended, and its mother faces potentially life-long emotional consequences as a top of that decision. Abortion may be legal in the United States, but it is not the preferred choice. With comme il faut education, women seeking abortions can come to understand their decision-making post and be persuaded to make a better choice.Abortion is becoming more and more common between younger girls. Girls remove to be educated on this issue before the age gets extremely low. The fact that our country had to make it a law that bush league cant get an abortion without parental consent means girls are getting abortions way too young. This major issue is affecting girls of all ages, it should not be abused as more as it is. Women should be educated on the procedure, and the mental issues that come with the procedure. They say that a sonogram is what makes women change their minds about getting an abortion because the sound of a heart beat shows women there really is something living inside them and that shows them also that you would be terminating something that could one day be their pride and joy. Abortion is a major issue and should be stopped. Abortion should be illegal, I believe abortion should be banned completely. It is murder in one way or another. Someone could get two counts of murder for killing a pregnant woman but women are murdering their baby each and every day.How can someone go into work each and every day just knowing they are going to terminate someones unborn child? It has to be stopped and we need more pro-lifers to show women what it does to our bodies and how if affects us. Women dont realize how traumatizing it really is unt il it is too late. Women need to be informed, and educated about the procedure and the guilt afterwards. The guilt itself eats women away, knowing they terminated something that could be their happiness one day. The issue of women not being hit for the responsibility, or just not wanting a child to begin with needs to stop. Some women need to take responsibility of their actions, and deal with what they started. Even if the woman is incapable of keeping a kid, they should at to the lowest degree give it up for adoption, if they do not want the responsibility they should also give him/her up for adoption. There are women who are completely unable to have kids and would be more than happy to take in a baby if only women would let their babies have the gift of life. A child is considered alive the arcminute it is conceived, abortion is usually done during the first trimester, but there have been some cases that it is done later.Abortion is still, and probably always will be a big iss ue. Women should not be allowed to get an abortion, no matter what. Women need to stop thinking about themselves and put their unborn babies life before there own. Everyone should be given the right to live, and no one should be able to hold that much power in their hands. All in all abortion is wrong, and just not something I could ever go through with nor would I ever think about going through with it. Abortion is almost like the easy way out of your mistakes, sometimes people need to own up and take up for their mistakes.

(Jonathan, 1992).Dawk ins has used meme to signify a cultural entity, for example an idea, a song or religion that can be considered as a replicator by an observer. In his hypothesis, he indicated that it was possible for people to look at numerous cultural entities as copiers or replicators. They generally make copies via exposure to human beings, who evolved efficiently though not perfectly in terms of behaviour and information. It is not common for memes to be perfectly copied. They capability become combined, refined or modified with different ideas, which results to other new memes. The new memes may prove to be efficient in replicating than those that preceded them. This provides a framework for cultural evolution hypothesis, which is similar to biological evolution of genes.CRITICISMS OF DAWKINS THEORY (SOCIOCULTURAL) The contemporarily sociocultural evolution has rejected a big part of chaste social evolution. This is due to a number of theoretical setbacks. Firstly, the possibleness was belie ved to be ethnocentric (makes heavy judgments on various societies, and favours western civilization.Secondly it made a general assumption that all cultures essential have same goals and must also progress the same way. Thirdly his theory-equated materials culture for example, cities and technologies with civilization. Fourthly, it also equated fittingness/progress with evolution. This was based on gross misunderstanding of theory evolution. Lastly, the evidence produced contradicts the theory. Many primitive societies are believed to be more than democratic, peaceful and equitable as compared to many contemporary societies. They are also regarded as healthier in terms of ecology and diet. The social evolution is classified as a knowledge theory. It has been used to give support to unjust social practices believed to be racist especially slavery, colonialism and unbalanced conditions of providence which are present in the industrialized Europe. Darwinism social theory is very mu ch criticized since it was responsible for some philosophies, which were used by Nazis. (Jonathan, 1992).EFFECTS OF EVOLUTIONARY THEORY The thought of evolution has brought about considerable social effects. With the development of scientific theories, most explanations have displaced some alternatives, which have been widely held.Since evolution theory includes explanations of origins of humanity, it has prominent impact on the societies of humans. (Jobson, 1998) Evolution of culture has punctuated equilibrium, which was developed by Gould and Eldredge for evolution that is biological. According to Bloomfield, most human societies have equilibrium, which is punctuated. This would first mean a society, which is stable and a transition, which results to a stable society that is more complex. The human society status is pegged on food production productivity. Deevey reported that food productivity does not change much of stable societies but it increases during transitions.CONCLUSION Some scholars have harshly criticized Dawkins theory of selfish Genes. His theory is being described as absurd and it is even more difficult for a person to know where to begin criticizing his theory. The idea that the idea of selfish gene is discredited however is foolish, since his concept has received a lot of acknowledgement on its anniversary 30 years after its publication. We might be hoping too much that a person has the ability to come up with an argument hint on our lives or say something that proves he has an understanding of the framework of the selfish gene.We can only take his explanation for it. Rmj, brought forward some arguments against The Selfish Gene. He argues that Dawkins lacks understanding of religion, philosophy of religion and theology. In his book, Dawkins does not refer to any religion philosopher. This generally shows his deliberate ignorance of his topic. Other people have strongly back up the selfish gene theory. An Indian Bay states that we basical ly are selfish. We would not survive if we were not selfish. It is selfishness that gives us the desire to survive. The truth is genes could be selfish but human beings have gradually evolved to become social. Currently, Darwinians view incorporates an understanding and states cooperation are part and parcel of the genetic heritage.REFERENCES Jonathan, K (1992) Savage Inequalities Children in Americas schools, harper Perennial Library, US. The Honey Bee (257) The Secret Life of Bees. This foreshadows you that the main character who is Lily, a 14-year-old girl, is carried too much responsibility on her shoulders, about what shes going through. another(prenominal) device that develops ones story, being the most grave device in my opinion, is the character development. It pictures the things that the character goes through and how they convert throughout the story, most of the characters change a lot during the whole book .Character development explains every detail, until the last(a) touch that that character goes through. We see the main character Lily develops so much through this story. In the beginning we see her as an innocent girl, which she does everything to find out more about her mother. Last but not leastallusions. Why is it important to put them in your story? Allusions as you know, is the reference of something that has happened in history, that everybody knows about. If you put them in your story, you makeyour story real. You make the readers feel it, actually live it. Sue Monk Kidd uses allusions to help you understand what is going on in more details. Thats what you should do. Some of the allusions which are very important to be named is where the author put in THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT.This automatically touches your brain by telling you that this was in the 60s and that the colored people where fighting to win their rights. Also adding, it brings you that feeling that you think youre living in the story, being able to relate in anyones everyday life. Another al lusion is the ululate WALL which May writes on it every time somebody dies. In conclusion to this, Allusions help the story by allowing the audience to relate and apply these reasonings in their lives.Briefly explained, the three literary devices which would be good to include in stories are epigraphs, character development and allusions. This brings your story to a charge up that the reader believes they are actually living the story, feeling every single detail of it. So, all in all, literary devices increase more use of detailed writing and allows people to understand what is going on.
